Sweet Chicken Purree

Ingredients:
  • 3 medium Sweet Potato (the orange kind, yams?)
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken (I have used breast and thigh, both work well)
  • 3 or 4 medium apples (any variety)
  • chicken broth (optional)
  • water
Cut chicken into medium sized pieces. Peel and cut potato and apple into large sized pieces. Place all ingredients into a large pot and bring to boil, reduce to medium-low heat and continue to cook for 30 - 40 minutes until chicken is cooked and potatoes are soft.

Puree to desired consistency. For older babies do not thin out with additional water. Freeze in ice cube trays.

Recipe for Madness

I have been making baby food for my son since he began to take an interest in foods.....I have a book that I often refer to for recipes, but find that it's lacking options, I have looked online and find the same. So, I will post some recipes of what I have doctored up in my kitchen.

Introduction

Hi, my name is Sarah. I am 26 years old and a first time mommy. I am riding the wave of mommy hood and feeling the way as I go. I believe in conventional medicine, but I am open to alternative methods.
Ultimately, I strive to do what is best for me and for my family. I work hard to provide for my son and to nurture the growth of my family. This blog is all about my experiences as a mom. It's about what I learn along the way, methods that I have created to overcome obstacles, stories about trials and tribulations, and just about anything related to mommy hood or raising my baby.. At best, it's about me and it's about my son.
